The present study draws our attention to the existence of educational communities that allow teachers to continuously develop their abilities and work together in order to face the challenges presented by the educational system. We will discuss three case studies – ANPRO, Aspire Teachers, Merito – and the information obtained in an empirical evidence, in order to shine a light on the dynamics and variables at work in these communities in Romania.
This paperwork aims to emphasize the utility of principles in defining new models of education, to outline the main traits of educational communities regarding mentorship relations, informational sources and intergenerational interaction. In the process of underlining how crucial it is to include principles and values in future educational models, the author raises the question “Why do we educate?”.
This article responds to the question Can creativity bring more joy in education? through a practical experience – a case study – the implementation of Revista Creativ la Sat project. The project was developed between March and October 2018 and it was co-financed by AFCN (The Administration of the National Cultural Fund). Revista Creativ la Sat was also presented during the sixth edition of the ALLS event – Romanian International Conference for Research and Education.
We, at “Noi Orizonturi” Foundation, have different programs, we train different teachers and we want a different future for Romanian children. We consider ourselves a different organization, but it is difficult to determine in observable and measurable terms how different (Romanian equivalent of altfel) looks like. Probably, that’s why we empathized very well with the situation of the schools that organize Școala Altfel – a concept-program that sounds interesting, right? But what does it mean? The aim of this paper is to define more clearly how the success of such a project looks and what efforts are needed in order to get there.
GrittyHub is a space for exploring educational alternatives. This article brings an overview of the afterschool pilot project we have developed over the past year. Our intention was to create a new program focusing on the time children in grades 0-4 have after school. We wanted to provide a different solution to these children, who, most of the time, are involved in the standard afterschool activities with their own teacher.
The proceeding shows the fresh perspective that Yuppy Koti Centre brings into the classic Romanian school landscape, inspired by the Finnish education. It presents three key aspects that have already implemented and were of big success at this education centre. The author strongly believes that anyone in any context can use these as guidelines.

This interview paper aims to provide educators and parents with an answer to the question on how we can support children to be more prepared for the future. The text will describe the endeavour of the character lab concept and its applicability in Romania. Readers will attain valuable tools that can be later applied in the education process of the children they interact with.
The article focuses on three key messages: (1) learning is a natural process; (2) authentic learning is a process that generates positive emotions, satisfaction, and self-esteem; (3) the use of digital technologies influences the dynamics of the learning process.
